first one in double digits
I cannot believe we have reached the milestone of having a kid in the double digits.
Crazy.
The occasion has made me more sentimental than normal and has caused lots of reflection on years past.
Macey has kind of always been the best.
She was the best toddler. Always dressing up, accessorizing, dancing, throwing parties…pretty much my entertainment.
She has always been my best helper and side kick. It was funny looking through her birthday pictures and seeing how obvious it was which ones I was sick and prego during. She has been through a lot with me. Glad we are over that phase. :)
and seriously, the change from 9 to 10?!? Part of it, I am sure, is because I have FINALLY let her keep her hair long. I am learning to relinquish control. slowly learning.
Her birthday started like it always has…with donuts.
Then it was all shopkins and Lea Accessories. Nana and Opa got her a real pearl necklace too and she was in love.
Macey highly dislikes cake and loves mint icecream. So, I tried my hand at a mint chocolate chip icecream cake. She approved and I think we have found her new birthday request.
She was not pleased Ruby wanted to help blow out the candles.
She knew just where she wanted her party, Nickel City.
tickets,
games,
laser tag,
lots of good friends,
and prizes.
It is good to be Macey.
Paul also took her and 2 friends (tajen and bree) to the BYU basketball game on her birthday. He ignored my request though and took zero pictures. Pictures or not, she said she had the best time ever!
And I came across this picture from when Macey, Maddy and libby were little and could not resist a comparison.
They’ve been friends the last 10 years and I hope it continues.
and side note, I think we had more toys in our house when Macey was our only child, than we have now.
While I am sad she’s growing up, I am also excited for what’s ahead of her.
She’s intelligent, kind, compassionate, feisty, independent, and genuine.
There are adventures ahead for this girl and I can’t wait to share them with her.
