I threw my first ever Cinco De Mayo dinner party, well I guess dinner fiesta. I actually just bought a really big brisket that had to be used by May 5th, so I figured I’d better invite people over to help us eat it by that day.

Luckily, I realized just in time that our dinner party fell on Cinco De Mayo. Giving me just enough time to throw this baby together, you know, to make it festive.

Get it, the Mexican flag?

It was really more Texas barbecued themed, than Mexican, but no one complained. Good food is good food.

And Miles and Paul even ended up being all matchy, it doesn’t get more festive than that!

I am so happy I found a good brisket recipe that I can handle, thank you pioneer woman. I’m looking forward to the next occasion when I can cook one, perhaps Father’s Day.
