Sunny St. George

Nov 5, 2014
Michelle and I have been going slightly crazy since the addition of our 4th children, me more than her though. :)

Being the awesome friend/person/former roommate that she is, she offered up a girls trip to St. George to stay in her parent's vacation house for the weekend.  You know, to give us a break from our real lives and the crazy toddlers that we live with.  I obviously couldn't refuse!

I originally planned to bring Ruby with me, but Paul, being the amazing husband he is, pushed for me to leave her with him and the boys for the weekend.  The idea of a weekend with the easy child of the moment, was just too good to pass up.  So, I packed my pump instead and only looked back a few times.

The car ride down was amazing.  We decided it was the first time in about 8 years that we have been able to hold an uninterrupted conversation.

The easiness of the drive and the freedom of having only 1 child, allowed me to be talked into buying the girls Frozen gummies and ring pops during our rest stop.

After dinner we took the girls to this awesome park.  I just sat back and enjoyed my blizzard, thinking about how stressful this park would of been with Miles, Crew, and Liam.

The girls were so good and just entertained themselves no matter where we were.

My one request of this trip was to explore and climb around on the red rocks.

Macey was in her element hiking and climbing on the rocks.  We could not keep up with her.

This was another place I was glad I didn't have the boys, as there were cliff edges everywhere and plenty of places to disappear out of sight.

If I had the boys I would of be yelling, grouchy, and the verge of a panic attack.  Instead, I got to run around and enjoy the scenery with these girls.

There were secret caves, little hide outs, and giant rocks to climb up on.

This was my favorite part of the trip.  Can't wait to take the boys there, when Paul can chase them around of course.

Macey's favorite part of the trip was of course swimming.  She would of happily spent all day here.

And it wouldn't be a trip to St. George without a visit to Swig.

And some nail painting.

Pretty much I felt like I did not have to parent the entire weekend, it was pure bliss.  Macey got dressed, brushed teeth, and cleaned up after herself with no help from me.  All I had to do was fix hair 2 times.  Heaven.

Love this girl and this one too.

Still remember when when we met 14 years ago in Kimball Hall on the day I moved into my apartment freshman year.  Crazy how much has changed, but how much has stayed the same too.  tear.

Thank goodness for good friends!!

And for those wondering, Paul survived just fine with 3 kids at home. He did take the boys in for haircuts and gave them both mohawks.  It was a small price to pay for a weekend away.  :)

*And I want to record that I did not hear Lottie cry one single time the entire weekend!  She could not of been a more cooperative baby.

Girls Trip

Jul 29, 2013
When we saw that Mary Poppins was playing at Tuachan, we knew it would be the perfect destination for this years Roommate Reunion.  We also decided to bring our girls with us and they couldn't of been more excited to be included in the festivities.

Macey was so excited, she wanted to match clothing everyday.  Lucky for me she settled for the first day.  We wore orange and white strips.

Michelle and I agreed it was our most relaxing road trip to date.  The 3 girls just entertained themselves on the drive and there was no whining at all.

Macey and Amaryllis were quite happy to be reunited and even more excited that we shared a room together.

We lucked out with the weather, it could not of been more perfect for July in St. George.  The evening of the play was a perfect 76 degrees.

I didn't get any good pictures of the red rocks in the background, but it was gorgeous!  If you haven't got to see a play at Tuachan, go!

We could not resist these Mary Poppin's umbrellas and Macey was so happy to see that Mary Poppin's had the exact same one in the play.

We loved the play and it was fun to hear the broadway songs.  The best though was watching the girls faces when they saw Mary Poppins fly and when the fireworks started.  Magical.

We ate a lot.

Swam a lot.

And we of course had to do a Favorite Things Party.  We did a separate one for the little girls and they loved it.

We then had to paint rainbow nails with all the new nail polishes they got.

Love these girls.

And these ones of course too.

Crazy how much changes in 13 years, but then how much stays the same.

Can't wait for our next adventure together.

cwic4ever.
