Emily and Amaryllis were here visiting us last week and we of course had a blast. Macey and Amaryllis were pretty worn out by the end of the week, but it was all worth it. We had the chance to get together with some of our old roommates and do ALOT of reminiscing about our "crazy" college days. It is so weird to think that it's been 8 years since we came out to BYU and all met each other! I decided to pull out my old boxes of pictures from college, so I could see how much older I look. It turned out not to be such a good idea though, because I look alot older. :)
So, here's a few old and a few new pictures so you can see how much we've all changed.
Here's Emily and I freshman year eating fun dips in front of our dorm.
Now here we are 8 years later (we still wear our leopard slippers though)!
The craziest realization this week was that between my 3 best college friends and myself we have 7 kids!!! Here's the picture to prove it.
This is us at the end of our freshman year.
and this is us now!
Even though it's been 8 years we all still feel exactly the same and I'm so glad we are all still good friends.
I'll be posting much more from Emily's visit, so don't worry. ;)
We just got back from visiting the Bartlett's in North Carolina and I don't even know where to begin. We took a million pictures, so I'll go through those later and put a gallery on navasard.com, stay tuned. We spent almost all of our time at Emily's family's beach house in Topsail and we already can't wait to go back. We did a lot of body boarding, Wii playing, talking, eating, and lounging.
Here's my top ten list from the trip (in no particular order):
1. Meeting Amaryllis, her and Macey are already bff's
2. Beating Jake in Pro-Faceoff on Guitar Hero
3. When Emily and I rode side-by-side on an awesome wave (we actually held hands and on another one Emily's board was on top of me) :)
4. Lots of ice cream cones, which reminded us of our last vacation together
5. Dutch Blitz and the constant banter
6. Eating at the Farmer's Market and listening to the locals
7. Mario Kart
8. Laughing so hard I cried
9. Eating sandwiches on the beach after a hard morning of body boarding
10. And of course just hanging out with the "Fartlett's" and reminiscing about the good old times in Provo
Thanks Em and Jake for a great vacation, we couldn't ask for better friends!! You can check out Emily's Blog
for more info about our trip.
Tonight we participated in our first ever virtual family home evening with the Bartletts. We rocked out to Guitar Hero songs from the Beastie Boys to Dragon Force. Not only were we playing the Wii online, we also had a video chat going with our laptops so we could see each others sweet moves.
It was just like old times hanging out with Emily and Jake, except for the fact that they are in North Carolina and we're in Utah. It really made me miss them, Utah just seems a little more boring without their presence. So, until we actually get to hang out in person sometime next spring we will have to settle for the virtual world. The boys already have another date lined up to play on Thursday.
